Can 2 adults use a family Railcard?
Two adults can be named as cardholders on your Family & Friends Railcard. The two adults don’t need to travel together but you do need to be travelling with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 15 to be eligible for the discount.
Can 2 people share a Railcard?
No. The Railcard is for your use only, and provides discounts only on tickets bought for your own use. It does not cover anyone accompanying you.
Do you both need a Two Together Railcard?
Yes. You must show your valid Two Together Railcard (digital or plastic) when you buy your ticket and travel on the train. Failure to present a valid Railcard will mean you have to pay a full fare, which is not refundable.
How many adults and children can travel on a family Railcard?
The Family & Friends Railcard discount is valid for up to four adults aged 16+ and four children aged 5-15. There must be at least one child travelling together with one of the two cardholders.
Can my partner use my Railcard?
The Railcard and tickets bought with it are not transferable to anyone else and you must not give, lend, or resell them. Only the named cardholder(s) can use the Railcard. 2.4. Train Companies will not issue refunds on unused/unwanted Railcards, or extend their validity period.
Are Railcards valid on all trains?
Yes, your Railcard is accepted by all the Train Companies who operate Passenger Railway Services within England, Scotland and Wales. Railcards do not give discounts on Eurostar services, Charter services, and Heritage Railways unless state otherwise.

How do I get a free Family Railcard?

Yes. You can buy a 1-year 16-25 Railcard over the counter at all staffed station ticket offices. You will be required to provide your passport or UK driving licence or birth certificate or National Identity card (for non-UK nationals) as proof of your date of birth and a passport-style photo.
